Löwenbräu Keller

It was actually past lunch time on our second day in Sydney and we were at The Rocks. There were so many places to eat here and we were indecisive as usual. We walked around the place to get a feel of the restaurants here and saw Löwenbräu Keller which looked pretty crowded. We browsed through some of the brochures we’ve collected from The Sydney Visitor Centre at The Rocks and found that there was a coupon for a free beer (300ml) with a main ordered – that was for me, and Löwenbräu Keller it was! It’s been awhile since we had German Pork Knuckles.

The outer part of this restaurant was pub-style and we initially thought that this place was not suitable for Lil’ M. In addition, there were some stairs to climb and we needed to … actually I needed to carry the stroller through the stairs. As we entered the dining area, it looked great with lots of family with strollers (joined the club!) and there was a German band performing as well.

It was late afternoon and we weren’t that hungry because we had a heavy breakfast at bills and knew that the portion here was huge by spying at other tables! So, we all shared the Schweinshaxn – Oven-Roasted Pork Knuckle served with Sauerkraut, Löwenbräu Bier Sauce and Mashed Potatoes ($36.5). It was a fantastic Pork Knuckle. The seasoning on the crackling was really good and there were enough crispy crackling to go around. The meat was perfectly cooked and I  had to take an additional shot here for remembrance! We also enjoyed the Löwenbräu Bier Sauce that went very well with the traditional Sauerkraut and Mashed Potatoes at the side.

I never forget a free beerI went for the Löwenbräu Original (draught, 300mlith main ordered – need to present coupon obtained from one of the brochures collected at The Sydney Visitor Centre at The Rocks ).

I took these additional shots at the bar counter while waiting for the washroom being serviced.

Löwenbräu Keller offers great Bavarian meals, great biers and entertaining live performances. We were fortunate enough to experience it all when we were at Löwenbräu Keller that afternoon. I’m sure it will be more happening during dinner till late … but we had a better dinner that night at B.B.Q. King where we had the Best Roast Pork ever. The following dinner got better where we were the first to be seated at Billy Kwong and I had the chance to meet Kylie Kwong
