We had some visitors from Malaysia during the weekend and were wearing our ‘tourist guide’ hat. (By default,) the Yarra Valley wineries top our itinerary. The first winery planned for the day was Dominique Portet.
We went through all the wines available for tasting but none suited Uncle P’s (one of our visitors, a wine connoisseur) taste which was Cabernet Sauvignon – focused. However, this interesting bottle with a story (below) at the counter caught his attention but wasn’t available for tasting!
The atmosphere here was fantastic and we were glad that our visitors have enjoyed their first Yarra Valley Cellar Door experience. This is a great start to the next Cellar Doors planned – Badger’s Brook Estate, RiverStone Estate Wines and Helen’s Hill Estate.http://www.dominiqueportet.com (at the time this was posted, the website was not visible – let me know if its up and running)
